BYO Database Setup

BYO Database Setup

BYO database mode is optional. Hosted mode stores encrypted payloads in InstaWebhook-managed PostgreSQL. BYO mode stores payloads in a customer-controlled PostgreSQL schema while the control plane stores operational metadata.

The setup flow explains storage modes, data placement, permissions, credential encryption, disconnect controls, and deletion options before asking for connection details.

The dashboard sequence is: review storage modes, review data location, review the permission model, run the setup SQL, save a dedicated worker-user connection string, test connection, verify schema and privileges, run a sample payload check, then use event payload deletion, metadata export, rotation, disconnect, and delete controls.
